Magpies' flight to the final can't be stopped! Sorry Arsenal, Newcastle have a trophy to win!

Murphy opened the scoring and Gordon exploited the Gunners' defensive blunder to secure the EFL Cup final and keep the dream of winning the trophy after 70 years alive - 2-0
Newcastle's dream lives on! The Magpies are determined to finally grab a trophy after the immensely long break which has lasted for 70 years and with their performance against Arsenal they proved they are ready for success!
Newcastle were better in both legs and deservedly booked their ticket for the EFL Cup final. Of course, it was easier to play tonight as the Magpies brought a 2-0 lead home from the Emirates, but they were still serious and focused enough to easily seal the deal.
Jacob Murphy in the 19th and Anthony Gordon in the 52nd minute took care of securing the finals, and after that second goal, it was much easier to play. Arsenal had a few chances (Odegaard wasted the best one seconds before the opener) but were, in general, seriously inferior to Newcastle - 2-0.

From the start of the match, things did not look good for Arsenal. Alexander Isak netted the opener already after four minutes, though his goal was disallowed due to offside. But that was only the beginning. In the 19th minute, Martin Odegaard wasted the best Gunners' chance before the break, but what followed was even more painful... Just seconds after the Norwegian's miss, the Magpies broke the deadlock - this time for real!

It was a hasty counter, which Isak ended with a powerful effort which crashed against David Raya's post, but Jacob Murphy was in the right place at the right time to simply tap the ball in - 1-0!
By the break, the visitors threatened once more over Leandro Trossard but also missed Gabriel Martinelli to an injury, as the Brazilian was forced to leave the pitch already in the 37th minute, giving his place to Ethan Nwaneri for another Mikel Arteta's headache.
Seven minutes into the second half, Raya and Declan Rice blew the "game over" whistle, losing the ball on the edge of Arsenal's box, as Fabian Schar stole the ball and Anthony Gordon was a ruthless executor, making it 2-0! At that point, Newcastle were 4-0 up on aggregate, which would have been an unattainable advantage even for stronger sides than the Gunners.

As both teams were aware that the winner is already known, not many exciting moments happened until the end of the game. Arsenal chased at least one goal on agreggate, but in the end failed in their quest. Newcastle will play either Liverpool or Tottenham in the final, as the Reds and Spurs play their second leg tomorrow (23.00).
