In his latest post on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday night, the 31-year-old striker revealed that "he needs healing… everyone needs healing."
Memphis said:
"I know in this world we live, they always wanna twist my words and change stories to push a narrative, because they want to interrupt God's work. I also know how much influence I have on the younger generation and how many more talented individuals in this world influence the younger generations…
"Somehow it happens often that the raw, talented kids come from poor neighbourhoods with often poor education too."

He added that they still find a way to survive despite all the obstacles...
"Yet they found a way to survive, but don't often have leaders around who can show them the beautiful ways of life. That's just the reality.
"All I want is to push positivity and definitely to the younger generation who reach millions of people through their talent.
"I try to make them understand a different perspective on life, but I know it's not easy, because the devil is working overtime, and it makes it very hard to change the way they think. However, I will not stop. This world needs healing.
"I need healing… everyone needs healing," concluded Memphis Depay.
