Osano who also played 25 matches in the season finished the season with thirteen clean sheets.

After missing out on the 'Golden Glove', Nairobi City Stars custodian Jacob Osano has vowed to settle for nothing less than the individual award next season.

Osano lost the award to the experienced Tusker goalkeeper Patrick Matasi who claimed it following an incredible season that saw him record18 clean sheets in 25 matches.

Osano who also played 25 matches in the campaign finished the season with 13 clean sheets, the second best tally after that of Matasi who doubles up as the Tusker assistant captain.

The towering custodian who defied odds to establish himself as the first choice City Stars glove man after seeing limited playing time last season said he was hopeful of keeping more clean sheets in the coming term and realize his dream of winning the prestigious award.

The former KCB shot stopper was sparingly used last season as coach Sanjin Alagic who paved way for Nicholas Muyoti upon the expiry of his contract preferred Stephen Njung'e in between the sticks.

"My target is to be the best goalkeeper in the league next season. I had a similar ambition in the concluded season but fell short by five clean sheets. I am hoping that we will be more solid at the rear in the new season," he said.

Osano in the meantime hailed the club's goalkeepers' trainer Zachary Onyango for putting him and the other custodians on toes throughout the season.

For the second season running, City Stars will produce the second best goalkeeper as Njung'e was named the first runner up last season courtesy of the eleven clean sheets he recorded.
