Mara Sugar FC continued their positive start to the new campaign beating troubled Vihiga Bullets FC 5-0 in a National Super League game staged at the Awendo Green Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Bullets were on the verge of issuing a walkover due to lack of means of travel but were rescued by a well-wisher and arrived in Awendo shortly before kick-off for the game that, expectedly, they lost heavily.
New acquisition Ruben Mita got the ball rolling with a second-minute goal before Yusuf Ochieng added a second in the 16th minute in what was now becoming a one-sided affair. Mita added his second in the 35th minute before the league’s top scorer Philip Nyakwakwa joined the scoring party in the 44th minute. The hosts took a 4-0 lead to the break.
The visitors showed improvement after the interval, particularly at the back, and thwarted a number of attacks from Mara. Samuel Otieno would then complete the rout in the 62nd minute of the game.
At the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, all-Stars beat Kibera Black Stars 2-1 in a hotly contested league match.

At the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, Naivas FC maintained their unbeaten run this season with a 1-0 win over SS Assad. Francis Nambute scored the all-important goal of the game
At the Wolves Den in Kajiado, host Dimba Patriots and newly promoted Luanda Villa shared the spoils in a barren draw. A similar result was witnessed at the Hope Centre Grounds where Darajani Gogo and MCF, both winless shared the spoils in a barren stalemate.
