The NSL action resumes on Sunday with seven matches on the schedule as the promotion race intensifies

Nairobi United opened a four-point gap at the top of the National Super League (NSL) after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Darajani Gogo at Marsit International School Grounds on Saturday.

Daniel Bichok’s second-half strike was enough to solidify NaiBois’ status as serious promotion contenders.

The win marked their fifth consecutive victory and the third under head coach Nicholas Muyoti.

For Darajani Gogo, the loss was a major setback in their bid for a top-tier promotion spot.

Under former Posta Rangers head coach Paul Ogai, the team has now gone four matches without a win, dropping to sixth place with 30 points—10 behind league leaders Nairobi United.

Naivas 4-2 Fortune Sacco

At Kianyanga Stadium in Kerugoya, Naivas FC continued their impressive resurgence with a commanding 4-2 victory over Fortune Sacco.

Robert Karisa Ponda, Emmanuel Lunalo, Markvivian Kesa, and Newton Ochieng found the net for Naivas, extending their unbeaten streak to eight matches.

Despite a sluggish start to the season, Elvis Ayani’s side now sits seventh in the standings with 29 points.

For Fortune Sacco, the defeat was a major blow to their promotion hopes. Once considered strong title contenders, they now trail Nairobi United by eight points.

The loss triggered immediate action from the club’s management, who axed nine players in response to the team’s decline.

"The management is not happy with the team. A lot has been invested, but there is no consistency. We are sliding down the table, and action is necessary—nine players will be dropped before the start of the week," a club source told Mozzart Sport

Kibera Black Stars 4-0 SamWest Blackboots

In another NSL fixture on Friday, Kibera Black Stars delivered a dominant 4-0 victory over SamWest Blackboots at Jamhuri Sports Complex.

Fidel Ochieng starred with a hat-trick, while Eugene Ochieng also got on the scoresheet.

The win propelled Kibera to second place with 36 points, while Blackboots remain in 12th place with 22 points.

The NSL action resumes on Sunday with seven matches on the schedule as the promotion race intensifies.
