Former top flight side register sixth win of the season, Sony sinks deeper

National Super League (NSL) side Kisumu AllStars enhanced their chances of returning to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League(FKFPL) after edging Murang’a Seal 2-1 at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu on Friday afternoon.

AllStars were axed to the second tier in November last year after falling to Vihiga United in the promotion/relegation playoff.

The Salim Babu coached club who are now five points shy of league leaders Kenya Police made good use of the home advantage to beat Murang’a who are languishing in the relegation zone.

Following the win, AllStars now have 24 points while Murang’a remains second from the bottom with a paltry nine points.

In other matches, former top-flight side Sony Sugar complicated their chances of surviving the axe after battling a bottom-placed Mt Kenya United to a barren draw.

Sony who were jettisoned from the senior league in 2019 after dishing three walkovers sit two places above the red line with fourteen points.

The club had Brian Asuma cautioned during the match while the Mt Kenya duo of Joachim Otieno and Dennis Onyango were also booked.

Migori Youth will have Paul Enzo to thanks as his first half goal was all they needed to switch off Nairobi Stima in Awendo.

Mwatate United thrashed a ten-man Mully Children's Family 3-1 at the Ruaraka grounds.
