MOFA 3-2 Mwatate United
At Kenyatta Stadium, all eyes were on the high-stakes clash between Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) and Mwatate United, two sides with contrasting ambitions but equal urgency.
The hosts, under the guidance of Charles Bruno, made a blistering start, asserting early dominance with a well-taken opener from Steve Otieno in the 18th minute.
Barely three minutes later, Kevin Bulimo doubled the advantage, capping off a fluid attacking move that left Mwatate reeling and seemingly on course for a long afternoon.
Yet, football’s unpredictability quickly surfaced. Mwatate United, showing resilience and fighting spirit, clawed their way back into the contest.
They halved the deficit at the half-hour mark before completing a remarkable comeback just before the break, restoring parity and shifting the momentum entirely as the teams headed into halftime locked level.
The second half, however, belonged to MOFA. Emerging from the interval with renewed intent and tactical sharpness, they wasted no time in reclaiming control.
George Ogutu struck just two minutes after the restart, finishing off a decisive attacking sequence to restore MOFA’s lead.
From there, the hosts managed the game with composure, fending off Mwatate’s advances to secure a crucial victory.

The result proved significant in the promotion race, as MOFA surged back into third place with 56 points, now just five behind joint leaders Migori Youth and Mombasa United.
For Mwatate United, the defeat marked a sobering moment—their first under coach James Tole, further complicating their survival bid as they remain entrenched in the relegation battle.

While the result reflected the evenly matched nature of the encounter, it ultimately did little to advance either side’s ambitions.
Dropped points at this critical stage could prove decisive, with both teams missing an opportunity to close the gap on the promotion places.
Darajani Gogo 0-0 Mully Children’s Family
A similarly tense affair unfolded at Marist Grounds in Karen, where Darajani Gogo and Mully Children’s Family battled to a goalless draw in what was billed as a relegation six-pointer.
Despite the high stakes, neither side could find the cutting edge, and the stalemate leaves both teams still deeply embroiled in the fight for survival.
With just eight matches remaining, every point carries immense weight, and such results may yet prove costly.
FC Talanta 1-4 Naivas FC
Perhaps the most striking result of the day came in Naivas' clash, where former top-flight side FC Talanta suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat.
The loss represents a major setback for Talanta’s promotion hopes, raising further concerns about their ability to arrest a worrying slide that has extinguished any hope for immediate return to FKFPL.
In contrast, Naivas FC emerged as one of the biggest winners of the round.
The emphatic victory for Elvis Ayani's coached side not only boosts their confidence but also reignites their late push for promotion, as they climb to 44 points—now 12 adrift of third place.
