Odeka has previously played for Western Stima, Kisumu All-Stars, Posta Rangers, and Sony Sugar.

Salim Odeka has announced his departure from Kakamega Homeboyz after a half-season with the Kakamega-based FKF Premier League outfit.

The seasoned defender joined Homeboyz from Geita Gold of Tanzania and went straight into the starting eleven, becoming an integral player for the Patrick Odhiambo-coached team. However, towards the end of the season, he did not feature much, raising speculation about his departure.

The player has now taken to social media to announce his exit from Kakamega Homeboyz, describing his time at the club as valuable.

“For the last six months, I have been an integral part of the Homeboyz family. It has been a valuable platform for me to develop my career as a player, and I have learned a great deal from the people I’ve associated with through this wonderful club,” the post read in part.

He further hinted that he may have been forced out of the club but still chose to thank Chairman Cleophas Shimanyula for the opportunity to play for the club, even if only for half a season.

“Although I would have liked to extend my time here, my moment to depart has arrived. I want to thank the club management, led by Chairman Mr. Cleophas Shimanyula, for granting me the opportunity to hone my skills. I am also grateful to the technical bench and the playing unit for their motivation and support throughout the season,” he continued.

Odeka also expressed his gratitude to the club's supporters.

“To the fans, I express my utmost gratitude for your unwavering support. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Until we meet again.”

Odeka has previously played for Western Stima, Kisumu All-Stars, Posta Rangers, and Sony Sugar.
