The Cameroonian joined Trabzonspor on loan, and the Turks found an interesting way of announcing his arrival from Man United
Just two years after he joined Man United from Inter Milan for €50 million, Andre Onana left Old Trafford, at least temporarily. The custodian's move was hinted at a week ago, and yesterday, it was officially announced - in an interesting way, though.
Namely, Onana appears holding a phone in his hand, sits in a chair, and changes his phone wallpaper from United's logo to Trabzon's logo with a single swipe. Does this mean the Red Devils are permanently removed from the Cameroonian's life? We'll see.

Either way, he'll spend the ongoing season in Turkey, where he'll try to get back on track, regain his past form, and boost his ruined confidence.
In his last game with United, he conceded twice in the EFL Cup clash against the fourth-tier side Grimsby and stopped only one out of 13 shots in the penalty shoot-out. Furthermore, in his last match with Cameroon, he conceded a winner (which almost definitely deprived the Indomitable Lions of the top spot in their qualifying group) against Cape Verde, after failing to come off his line and narrow the angle.
United were desperate to sign a new keeper in the recently finished transfer window, which was a hint that either Onana or Altay Bayindir would leave the club. The Red Devils chose between Emiliano Martinez and Senne Lammers, opted for the Belgian, and got rid of the Cameroonian.
However, his contract with United expires in three years, so the Manchester side will have to think of a better transfer strategy to sell him next June.
At Trabzon, Onana is supposed to replace the club's child and legend Ugurcan Cakir, who shockingly moved to Galatasaray after 13 years with the team from Papara Park. Trabzon are currently second in the Turkish Super Lig, two points behind the reigning champions.
