Galatasaray star plotting academy network and long-term football project, but the club denies any contact
Victor Osimhen is thinking far beyond goals and trophies.
The Galatasaray striker is reportedly exploring a move to purchase Istanbulspor - not just as an investment, but as the foundation of an ambitious cross-continental football project.
According to reports, the 26-year-old wants to create a structured "bridge" between Nigeria and Turkey, opening an academy in his homeland to scout and develop young talent before channelling players through Istanbulspor and into European football.
He revealed the idea of buying the club recently in a Carter Efe livestream. The plan seems clear: identify prospects early, develop them locally, and use Istanbulspor as a springboard into Europe. A historic club founded in 1926, but without the financial weight of Turkish elite, Istanbulspor presents the ideal testing ground for such a model.
But while the idea is gathering attention, reality hasn't quite caught up - yet.
Istanbulspor president Ecmel Faik Sarialioglu has played down the speculation, insisting there has been no official approach.
"We've seen the reports, but we have not received any confirmation," he said.
With 19 goals and 7 assists in 29 appearances this season, the Nigerian international remains one of the most productive forwards in Europe, building on a career that took him through Belgium, Germany, France and, most notably, Napoli.
