Nigerian ace was the man of the match in a 3-2 win over Tottenham
Victor Osimhen is ready for the Premier League. The Nigerian is playing in Istanbul for Galatasary, but the Turkish league is not among the Top 5 in Europe. Still, Osimhen had a chance to show how good is he against a top Premier League and he proved his quality with a brace against Tottenham. The Spurs have defeated Manchester City in the Carabao Cup and crushed Aston Villa in the league (4-1) but tonight couldn't do anything against a powerful Nigerian and the defeat was inevitable: Galatasaray â Tottenham 3-2.
The game was basically won between the 25th and 40th minute of the first half. During that span, Osimhen had two great chances, one goal denied due to offside and two scored. First he forced a great save from Forster in the 25th minute, before he shook the net but was miles offside. However, in the 32nd minute there was no stopping him as he finishe smart in the bottom right corner after a Dragusin mistake. Nigerian rose the fans to its feet again just a few minutes later and forced a big save from Forster but made amends in the 40th minute. Mertens made a wonderful cross from the right and Osimhenâs volley was precise and went into the bottom right corner.
The Nigerian went on with his show in the second half and had two great chances before he was subbed ten minutes from time. Spurs didnât put on a good show. They made made seven changes to their starting lineup that beat Aston Villa 4-1 and were still without Timo Werner (groin) and Mikey Moore (illness). Micky van de Ven, Wilson Odobert and Richarlison are still sidelined with hamstring injuries while Cristian Romero was not involved tonight. They allowed a goal in the sixt minute already, when Akgun scored a fantastic volley for the pandemonium in the stands. But the Spurs took control of the game and 12 minutes later, youngster Lankshear equalized after a good cross from Johnson. The away fans thought that this was the beginning of a turnaround, but then Osimhen decided to get involved. The only two things Tottenham did in the second half was red card from youngster Lankshear in the 60th minute and a consolation goal from Solanke in the 69th minute, but that was not enough.
