Posta Rangers forward Brian Otieno is impressed with the numbers and how he has fared in his maiden season in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.
Otieno joined the mailmen before the season began from division one side Sindo United on a three-year long deal and despite his deficient experience in the competition, he has gone on to notch in four goals and a couple of assists.

The fleet-footed attacker was plucked from Sindo whom he had featured for a season after finishing his secondary school studies.
The striker had to first deal with lack of playing of time for the better part of the first leg as the club’s former boss Stanley Okumbi had his preferred starters. However, the arrival of Salim Ali in February following Okumbi’s exit offered him a chance to fight for his place in the team and he is happy to have realized success and helped shoulder the scoring responsibility.
Even though Otieno acknowledges that meeting his target of scoring ten goals in his maiden season in the league is far-fetched given the number of remaining matches, he is glad to have ammased some considerable playing time and finding the back of the net four times.
“There is a common phenomenon of players struggling in their first season in the top flight. I am however happy that I have managed to beat the competition for playing time and scored goals. I am proud of what I have achieved owing to the fact that I was signed from the lower leagues,” he said.

“I had hopes of getting at least ten goals this season but as things stand now, it is close to impossibility. I will however be going for the best scorers award next season,” he added.
