The forward signed a two-year long contract

Newly-acquired Tusker forward Erick Otieno has lifted the lid on his lofty ambitions for the new season with the defending champions.

Otieno joined the club on a two-year long deal from Wazito and was subsequently unveiled alongside six others on Wednesday at the Ruaraka grounds.

The Robert Matao coached side also acquired Boniface Onyango, Tom Teka and Eric Mata from Kariobangi Sharks while David Odoyo was signed from Green Commanods. Collins Otieno was promoted from the youth team.

The man mountain striker, just like the other signings, pledged to help the beer makers retain the league title and fight for the domestic Cup that is expected to return in the new term.

Besides that, Otieno says he will unleash his beast mode and clinch the Golden Shoe that has been evading Tusker forwards for years.

The goal poacher, who had been training with Tusker since leaving Wazito a month ago, said the chemistry he had developed with the club’s creative midfielder had left him convinced that he will be banging in goals in the league for fun.

The immediate target is to help the club retain the league title and improve on last season’s performance. A striker is always judged by the goals he scores at the end of the season and in this regard, my aim is to win the ultimate prize. I have had sufficient time to prepare for the season and can’t wait for it to get underway,” he said.

The former Nzoia Sugar man in the meantime will face competition for playing time from the duo of Deogratious Ojok and Ibrahim Joshua who hit double digits last season. The two foreign strikers were reliable goal scorers for the Brewers with Joshua being the preferred starter.

The Tanzanian national who joined Tusker last year from Ken Gold FC has since earned an international status having secured a handful of national team call ups.
