As it stands, the Argentinian will leave Roma soon, and say goodbye to the Olimpico crowd against Lazio in the Derby della Capitale

Eventful days for Paulo Dybala and even more turbulent ones may be just around the corner.

A few days ago, the popular La Joya learned he had been left out of Argentina's World Cup squad, as national team head coach Lionel Scaloni didn't include him on his 55-man preliminary shortlist, while his club status isn't any better, as his departure from the Italian capital seems imminent.

His deal with the Giallorossi is set to expire on June 30 and isn't likely to be extended, as Dybala himself seemingly confirmed in an interview with Italian Sky Sports following Roma's Serie A triumph over Parma.

"The truth is, I'd like to know something too, but the club hasn't approached me yet: my contract says the derby will probably be my last match in front of the Roma fans."

"My idea? I'm keeping it to myself; we'll see what happens at the end of the season," he said.

Therefore, the iconic Derby della Capitale could indeed be the forward's final appearance at the Stadio Olimpico in front of the home fans. For many players, it would be an ideal send-off match, and a legend of Dybala's stature has undoubtedly deserved to have such an epic farewell.

He joined Roma in July 2022 as a free agent following a seven-year spell with Juventus. In four years with the Giallorossi, he made 138 appearances, scored 45 goals, and provided 27 assists.

Had it not been for frequent injuries - which have plagued him throughout his career - his tally would have been even better. But still, La Joya is one of the most magical footballers to grace the Stadio Olimpico.
