Ouma has been on the sidelines with an injury since August 2025, when he ruptured his Achilles Tendon in a training session ahead of their UEFA Conference League qualifier match against Bulgarian side Arda Kardzali.
Ouma’s absence has been a blow to both his Polish club and the Kenyan national team, Harambee Stars, having established himself as a key player in both teams.
The former Gor Mahia star has been in Kenya for the past few months, but has since returned to Poland with Rakow sharing an update on his injury.
“After a few months of rehabilitation in Kenya, Eric Ouma is already with us at L83 and will support the team in the fight for the final. We hope to see Erick on the field soon too,” Rakow posted on their Instagram account.
Patrzcie, kto jest razem z nami! 👊@Erick__ouma po kilkumiesięcznej rehabilitacji w Kenii jest już z nami przy L83 i będzie dziś wspierał drużynę w walce o finał! 💪

As revealed by the club, Ouma was in attendance when Rakow Czestochowa cruised to the final of the Polish cup courtesy of a 5-4 victory over GKS Katowise in post match penalties.
The two teams met in a semi final clash on Thursday 9 April where Katowise took a 2-0 advantage to the break before Rakow turned wild and went ahead to equalize courtesy of goals in the 47th and 49th minutes respectively
Rakow would then take the lead in the 68th minute, but Kalowise’s 94th minute goal meant that the game proceeded to extra time.
The floodgates of goals continued in the 112th minute, where Rakow thought they had secured victory but a goal by Pillars of Faith ensured that the game would be decided by post-match penalties.
Rakow scored all their four penalties in the shootouts, while Katowise were unlucky, scoring only the first two penalties.
Rakow will now face off with Gornik Zabrze in the final set for 2 May.

However, Ouma is most likely to miss out on that mission, as he himself approximated his return to the pitch next season.
