Brave Lille won at Parc des Princes against a star-studded PSG side to reach the summit of the Ligue 1 table
Neymar is not the hero – he’s a liability! The Brazilian was sent off late on in Paris’ home defeat at the hands of LOSC Lille in a top-of-the-table encounter of the French championship. Jonathan David scored his tenth goal of the season to secure a priceless win against the team that was France’s undisputed ruler for a decade.

Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Angel Di Maria were unable to break down the defence of the Ligue 1 new leaders and in the end the frustration got the better of the PSG’s biggest star.
Paris Saint-Germain went into the match buoyed by the return of the world’s most expensive footballer and were expected to finally end Lille’s chances of usurping the throne in France. However, the brave visitors put on a heroic show in the capital and showed that they are genuine title contenders – just in case there were any doubters left out there.
Neymar let the team down as he was rightfully shown two yellow cards and was thus sent off just as the hosts applied strong pressure in the latter stages of the game. An almighty dispute started but the Dogues profited from it as it gave them an opportunity to take a breather. They had a glorious chance to win it some tem minutes previously but Burak Yilmaz failed to finish off a quick counter attack despite being given a terrific chance. Still, Lille managed to hold on to the lead and celebrate a glorious win.
