South African Premiership side AmaZulu FC have completed the signing of Harambee Stars striker, Moses Shumah, from Zambian champions Power Dynamos in a US$150,000 (approximately Ksh 20 million) transfer, making him one of the most expensive Kenyan forwards to secure a move abroad in recent years.

AmaZulu agreed to pay Ksh 20 million to land the prolific striker, who has already arrived in Durban, signed a three-year contract, and joined his new teammates for pre-season ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The 22-year-old has also been handed the iconic No. 10 jersey, underlining the club's faith in his ability to spearhead their attack.

The transfer also represents a remarkable piece of business for Power Dynamos.

The Zambian champions signed Shumah from Kakamega Homeboyz for approximately Ksh 5 million just a year ago before selling him for Ksh 20 million, earning a profit of around Ksh 15 million while also negotiating a sell-on clause that entitles them to a percentage of any future transfer fee.

AmaZulu officially unveiled Shumah alongside six other new signings as they continue strengthening their squad ahead of the new Premiership season.

"Welcome to Usuthu, Moses Shumah, Kgomotjo Lekoloane, Gape Moralo, Mncedi Vandala, Omega Mdaka, Keenan Phillips and Faveur Kouassi," the club announced.

The sizeable transfer fee follows a sensational debut season for Shumah at Power Dynamos, where he established himself as one of Zambia's most lethal forwards.

He scored 23 goals across all competitions to win the Zambia Super League 'Golden Boot' and the club's Fans' Player of the Season award.

His goals played a pivotal role in Power Dynamos securing a historic second consecutive Zambia Super League title, further cementing his reputation as one of East Africa's most prolific strikers.

The move was briefly clouded by reports from Zambia alleging a disagreement over Shumah's share of the transfer fee, with claims he delayed travelling to South Africa after failing to receive an agreed percentage of the Ksh 20 million deal.

AmaZulu were reported to have fulfilled all their financial obligations to Power Dynamos.

Neither AmaZulu, Power Dynamos nor the player's representatives publicly commented on the reported dispute.

With the transfer now complete, Shumah has linked up with his new club in Durban and is expected to play a key role in the new season, where they will feature in the CAF Confederation Cup.
