Liverpool has spent over 300 million euros on reinforcements during the current transfer window, but clearly has no intention of stopping there. And not only are they not stopping — the reigning English champions’ next big target could end up being the most expensive transfer of this entire window, regardless of the money already spent on Florian Wirtz. Multiple sources report that Liverpool has already opened talks to sign Rodrygo, as Luis DÃaz has informed the club that he wants to join Bayern Munich. The Reds have started negotiations with the Brazilian’s camp and have received initial information regarding personal terms. According to early reports, the English giants are prepared to make another massive signing.

It’s immediately clear that Liverpool’s owners would have to dig deep, as Rodrygo's transfer would be an extremely expensive package when factoring in both the fee and salary. Some estimates suggest the total cost could reach 200,000,000. Real Madrid has reportedly set a minimum asking price of 100,000,000, though that figure could rise to as much as 120,000,000. Rodrygo still has three years left on his contract with Los Blancos, and despite competing with Kylian Mbappe and VinÃcius Junior, he still managed to tally 14 goals and 11 assists — a testament to his quality.
Another important factor is Rodrygo’s salary. He currently earns 10 millon euros net per year at Real Madrid, which means Liverpool would have to match or even exceed that figure — especially given the financial strength of Premier League clubs. However, Real Madrid is also among Europe’s most powerful when it comes to wages. In the UK, salaries over 150,000 per week are taxed at 45%, meaning nearly half goes to taxes. Considering Rodrygo is only 24 years old, Liverpool would likely tie him down with a five-year contract, making the financial implications quite clear. Real Madrid is reportedly willing to sell the Brazilian, who hasn’t impressed new manager Xabi Alonso. Rodrygo himself is aware of the situation and is already thinking about his next move. Renowned football insider Florian Plettenberg also reports that Liverpool’s deal for Rodrygo would be costly, but that it isn’t deterring those in charge at Anfield from pushing for another blockbuster signing. Alongside Rodrygo,
Liverpool is also targeting Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. If both deals go through, it’s possible Liverpool’s total spending could surpass 450,000,000 in transfer fees. So far, Liverpool has spent over 300,000,000 on new signings. The most expensive has been Florian Wirtz from Leverkusen (135,000,000), followed by left-back MiloÅ¡ Kerkez from Bournemouth (47 million), and right-back Jeremie Frimpong from Leverkusen (40 million). There's also Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, bought earlier from Valencia for 30,000,000 but left on loan there for a year. Plus, the transfer of Hugo Ekitike is expected to cost at least 90 million. Liverpool has earned a bit over 60,000,000 from the sales of Jarell Quansah (Leverkusen), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Real Madrid), Caoimhin Kelleher (Brentford), and Nat Phillips (West Brom), but they are expected to bring in at least another 150,000,000 from the sales of Luis DÃaz, Darwin Nunez, and Federico Chiesa.
