The club from the Italian capital is interested in the English player as part of its preparations for next season in Europe
Mason Greenwood could be on the move again this summer, with Roma emerging as one of the strongest contenders for his signature. Marseille are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the forward as the French club faces mounting financial concerns ahead of the end of the fiscal year.
Greenwood enjoyed an outstanding campaign in Ligue 1, producing 26 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. His performances not only boosted Marseille throughout the season, but also significantly raised his value on the transfer market, with the club now demanding around €50 million for the 24-year-old attacker.

According to reports from Italy, Roma have stepped up their pursuit in recent days, while Greenwood’s father has also reportedly been in touch with the Serie A side regarding a possible move to the Italian capital. Roma’s return to the Champions League is believed to have strengthened their position in negotiations, and the good relationship between the two clubs could help accelerate discussions.
Marseille, meanwhile, are under pressure to improve their financial situation before June 30 after missing out on Champions League qualification and facing scrutiny from the DNCG, French football’s financial authority. Because of that, the club is prepared to cash in on Greenwood, although they are determined to avoid accepting a reduced fee.
Roma are far from the only club monitoring the situation. Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have all been linked with the England-born forward, while several Saudi Pro League clubs are also keeping a close eye on developments. Despite that interest, Greenwood is said to prefer staying in European football.

With Marseille looking to balance the books and Greenwood coming off the best season of his career, his future is expected to remain one of the major talking points of the summer transfer window. Roma may currently be leading the race, but competition from across Europe could still make the battle for his signature far more complicated.
