Southampton's holding midfielder, 19, is one of the most exciting prospects on the market

It's not unusual to see a handful of clubs fighting for the same player, but when those clubs are Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, it means only one thing - we're talking about huge prospect. And this one has strong African roots.

As per Talksport, Liverpool are preparing an offer for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, with the Blues and the Gunners also showing interest in the 19-year-old defensive midfielder.

Lavia, born and raised in Belgium by Ghanaian parents, is valued at around £50 million. He's Manchester City's former starlet, brought from Anderlecht by Pep Guardiola's demand, but preferred moving to Southampton to find playing minutes. City, though, have a buy-back option for him, but that does not kick in until next July.

The current champions also inserted a clause entitling them to 20 per cent of any future sale, meaning they would net £10m should any potential suitor meet Saints' asking price.

Lavia looks set to depart St Mary's following Southamptons' relegation from the Premier League.

Arsenal could also press ahead with a move should Thomas Partey seek a new adventure after three years at the Emirates.

Lavia made 35 appearances last season for Southampton, 29 of them in the Premier League. He made his senior debut for Belgium in a friendly against Germany in March.
