The club signed the young forward from Tusker FC for an estimated Ksh20 million. Ogam had spent a season with the Brewers, scoring an impressive 15 goals in 17 games.

He also made his mark for Kenya at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament, scoring twice, with a third goal controversially disallowed against Madagascar—a decision that proved costly as Harambee Stars exited the competition in the quarterfinals after losing to the Islanders in a post-match shootout.

Leading up to his unveiling, every post made by Wolfsberger AC drew questions from fans asking, “Where is Ogam?” This continued for several weeks while the player awaited his visa, which took longer than expected to process.

However, with the intervention of Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all issues were eventually resolved.

In a smart move, the club capitalised on the attention from Kenyan fans, incorporating screenshots of the “Where is Ogam?” comments into their player unveiling video.

This strategy only amplified engagement, with more Kenyans flocking to the club’s social media pages, following, commenting, and celebrating each new post. It is clear that Wolfsberger AC did not just sign a player—they effectively gained a dedicated chunk of Kenyan supporters who have taken to serenading the club’s social media with their enthusiasm.

Speaking about the overwhelming support on Monday, Ogam appeared visibly elated during Harambee Stars training at the Police Sacco Grounds.

“I’m truly grateful to the fans,” Ogam said with a laugh. “Their support has been amazing. Even in Austria, people were asking me about these fans, and I told them they are football lovers who care deeply about the game. I can’t thank them enough for their unwavering support.”

After scoring for Harambee Stars during the last international break against both The Gambia and Seychelles, Ogam will now look to continue his scoring form in Kenya’s remaining two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers—on Thursday against Burundi and next week on Tuesday against the Ivory Coast.
