Kariobangi Sharks forward Moses Shikanda says he is in course to hit the target he set to achieve in his first season in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

Shikanda joined Sharks last year from Division One side Green Commandos and has netted seven goals thus far in the term.

Shikanda revealed that he had given himself a modest target of netting twelve goals in the term and with more than ten rounds to go, he feels that, he will make it.

I am happy with the steps I have made in the league thus far. I only need five goals to realize the target I set before the season started,” he said.

To realize the target, Shikanda said he was putting extra efforts and taking each game a time

The 22-year old is the leading scorer for the club that signed more than fifteen players before the season began. He has been facing competition for game time from Paul Odhiambo.

I want to be the preferred starter going forward. This means I have to work harder and make the playing time I will get count,” he stated.

Reacting to the rift of class between the top division and the third tier, Shikanda observed that, the difference was not massive.

“I am enjoying life in the top league. The difference between it and the third tier is movement of the ball, tactics and the technical abilities of players. There is less energy used in the top league as opposed to the lower ones,” he added.
