The top three teams in each zone will now proceed to the playoff while the bottom three are relegated to division one.

The Kenya Women Premier League (WPL) regular season concluded on Saturday with eight matches played across different venues.

Trans Nzoia Falcons' teenage sensation Violet Nanjala and Thika Queens' Mwanahalima Adam scored 19 goals each this season to share the golden boot award ahead of the playoffs.

Up against Zone B leaders Vihiga Queens, Nanjala who led the scoring chart at 18 goals ahead of the final day fixtures managed one goal in a 3-2 loss to Vihiga who are also the defending champions.

Jentrix Shikangwa's brace and a piece from Uganda's Joan Nabriye scored for Vihiga as Nanjala and Tumaini Waliaula bagged Trans Nzoia's goals.

On her part, Adam took advantage of Mathare Women’s current poor form to bag a hattrick that put her right at the top with Nanjala. In addition to Adam's hattrick, Catherine Githae and Nuru Hadima completed Thika's 5-0 thrashing of Mathare.

Vihiga's Terry Engesha had the second highest goal count at 15, having failed to score in the last two matches.

Meanwhile, Nakuru West Queens finished the regular league in zone B's second place after their opponent of the day, SEP Ladies, were a no-show for their match at Nakuru Show Grounds handing maximum points to the host.

Wadadia FC who were second in the log and were hoping to hold on to the position managed to salvage a point late in their clash against Kisumu All Starlets but it was not enough to stay in second place. Kisumu's Monica Etot opened the scoring in the 11th minute and they looked well on their way for a win until Ruth Chebungei broke their defence for the equaliser in the 83rd minute.

Ulinzi Starlets who had a chance to reclaim their second place in Zone A, with Gaspo Women held to a three-all draw by Makolanders, couldn't break Zetech Sparks' defence as the match ended in a goalless draw.

Kayole Starlets' Juliet Adipo and Joan Agutu scored in the 25th and 41st minutes of their match against Kibera Soccer Ladies to bring their side from a goal down for a 2-1 win. Kibera's goal was scored by Irene Namale in the first minute.

Thika Queens, Gaspo and Ulinzi Starlets finish the season on position 1,2 and 3 respectively on Zone A while Vihiga Queens, Nakuru West Queens and Wadadia are the top 3 teams respectively in Zone B. The six teams will now battle in the play offs.
