Harambee Stars teenage sensation Aldrine Kibet continued his remarkable run of form in front of goal, netting once again for RC Celta de Vigo U-19 during their Copa del Rey Juvenil semi-final clash against Real Betis U-19.

The 19-year-old forward struck in the 20th minute to level the scores after Betis had taken a surprise early lead, sparking hope of a comeback in a pulsating encounter staged at Estadio Anxo Carro in Lugo, Spain.
Pablo García had initially given Betis the lead, but Kibet’s precise finish restored parity and ignited momentum for the home side.
Five minutes past the half-hour mark, Ángel Dávila propelled Celta Vigo into the lead, ensuring that Kibet and his teammates went into the break with a slender advantage.
However, the second half saw Betis respond immediately, as Jesús Rodríguez drew the visitors level just ten minutes after the restart.
The match appeared destined for extra time, but Betis snatched a dramatic late winner.
Pablo García struck again in the 78th minute, completing his brace and dashing Celta Vigo’s hopes of a first Copa del Rey Juvenil final appearance.
Despite the 3-2 defeat, Kibet’s performance underscored his growing reputation.
The goal marked his third consecutive strike in the Copa del Rey Juvenil and extended his impressive tally to six goals across league and cup competitions this season.
The 2023 CECAFA U-18 Championship golden boot winner now turns his attention back to domestic action, where Celta Vigo U-19 sit second in the División de Honour Juvenil with 54 points, just two shy of table-toppers Deportivo La Coruña U-19, as they pursue the top spot.

Meanwhile, in South Africa, Harambee Stars goalkeeper Ian Otieno featured for Richards Bay FC in the Premier Soccer League.
The former Zesco United shot-stopper played the full 90 minutes as Richards Bay suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Orlando Pirates, leaving the team in tenth place with 23 points.
