Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain face off again on Wednesday night (10 pm) to decide Arsenal's rival in the Champions League final
Two attacking powerhouses with the same philosophy - score one more than the opponent, not simply protect the goal - meet again tonight in what feels like a "final before the final."
Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain clash tonight at 10 pm, in the return leg of the Champions League semi-final, with a place in the Budapest final on May 30 on the line.
The first leg at the Parc des Princes was nothing short of historic. A 5-4 thriller, nine goals, chaos, momentum swings, and what many already call one of the greatest matches ever played. PSG led 5-2 at one point through goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele, but Bayern's late response kept the tie alive. Despite the defeat, Vincent Kompany's side left Paris with belief.
Now everything shifts to the Allianz Arena.
Luis Enrique faces a major blow with Achraf Hakimi ruled out, while both teams are expected to stick largely to their attacking identities. Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Luis Diaz lead Bayern's charge, while PSG rely on Desire Doue (or possibly a reshuffled midfield including Fabian Ruiz), alongside Dembele and Kvaratskhelia.
After the first leg, Luis Enrique joked - only half in jest - that PSG may need at least three goals in Munich to progress. Given what we saw in Paris, another high-scoring spectacle feels inevitable.
PSG's finishing was ruthless: five shots on target, five goals past Manuel Neuer.
Both sides rotated lightly in their domestic leagues over the weekend, already fully focused on Europe. Bayern drew 3-3 with Heidenheim after securing the Bundesliga title, while PSG slipped against Lorient, but remain in control of the Ligue 1 race.
Vincent Kompany expects another chaotic encounter, but insists that the Bavarians will not change their approach.
"If you score one more than the opponent, you win. That's the mission," he said, underlining the attacking intent. PSG, meanwhile, remain confident in their identity. Dembele summed it up simply: "We won't change our philosophy. They attack, we attack."
Defensively, Bayern rely on Neuer, Upamecano, and Tah, with Davies and Stanisic on the flanks. PSG's back line remains anchored by Marquinhos and Willian Pacho, with Nuno Mendes stepping in for Hakimi.
With both teams built to attack rather than contain, the expectation is clear: goals, intensity, and another match for the ages. The only question is which titan survives.
