The Red Devils' 2-1 victory over West Ham took place at the same stadium as the FIFA Club World Cup final and the attendance was higher than at the CWC trophy match!
Manchester United's first pre-season clash against Leeds United eight days ago was forgettable for various reasons. They didn't play too well, the match was rather dull, and ended in a goalless draw. The only notable moment was Matheus Cunha's debut for the Red Devils.
However, it seems that things are kicking into gear for Ruben Amorim and his lads, as United recorded their maiden pre-season win, beating West Ham 2-1 last night in a game of the "Premier League Summer Series."
The attendance for Man United's 2–1 win over West Ham at MetLife Stadium was 82,566 🤩

It's the biggest crowd for a football match in the US this year, beating the Club World Cup final’s 81,118 😮 pic.twitter.com/VAoOsePl8D
Interestingly, the game was played at the MetLife Stadium in the USA, and the attendance was bigger than at the FIFA Club World Cup final!
The hero of the clash was Bruno Fernandes, who scored both goals for his team: the first from the spot in the fifth minute and the second seven minutes into the second half with a precise effort from outside the box. On the other hand, Jarrod Bowen netted the only goal for the Hammers in the 63rd minute.

Overall, United's victory could have been even more convincing, but Bruno and Leny Yoro wasted decent chances, while Rasmus Hojlund hit the post just 50 seconds into the game.
Amorim opted for arguably the most potent lineup he had at his disposal and the XI that could start in the opening Premier League round against Arsenal. The only missing players were the injured Lisandro Martinez and Andre Onana, as well as the newcomer Bryan Mbeumo, who has yet to debut for the Old Trafford crew.
