Will Bayern stumble in Monchengladbach again?

If you can find someone who has managed to trouble Bayern on a regular basis lately, then you have to point to Monchengladbach. The Bavarian giant has not defeated the Colts five times in a row, if we include the DFB Pokal in the statistics. The role of favorite is again on the side of the Munich team, but they have already been burned several times in this position against Borussia (19.30).

Both Bayern and Monchengladbach welcome the traditional Bundesliga derby with trepidation. It is even worse for Bayern at Borussia Park. The last two trips to this stadium ended in defeat, and in October 2021 they even experienced a debacle with five goals conceded in the DFB Pokal. In the previous five clashes there they did not win, in short, the last away win at Monchengladbach took place in March 2019.

"As soon as the statistics start going against us, we generally start not believing," said Thomas Tuchel. "We travel to Gladbach as favorites with only one goal, and that is to win. That is our only, absolute goal."

The opening two championship rounds went well for the team from Munich. First, Werder were defeated, and then Augsburg in the local derby. In general, it can be seen that Bayern seems healthier than the glitch in the German Supercup. And they would certainly not like to disturb the mood that he managed to create in the cabin after two victories before the international break.

"We know what's coming. This match is emotional, it's a special match with a rich history. We have to play according to our principles. Knowing that we don't do anything individuly, work as a team and focus on our game. I'm sure of that." added Tuchel.

Of course, Mönchengladbach will face one of the toughest tests in the Bundesliga on paper, as much as their better result in previous years in head-to-head matches is in their favor.

"We have to play bravely, defend from the front positions and reduce the deficit," said Gerardo Seoane, coach of the Colts.
