Wadadia issued a third walkover this season, handing free points to Kibera Soccer, who closed in on Police

Kenya Police failed to put a firm grip on top of the Women Premier League (WPL) table after they were held to a draw as Wadadia FC issued their third walkover and are now relegated to highlight results of Wednesday 12 March WPL action.

Kenya Police Bullets 1-1 Zetech Sparks

League leaders Police were held to a 1-1 draw by University Zetech Sparks in a match that was played at Zetech University Mang’u campus from 1500 hrs.

Zetech started the match on a high note and were rewarded in the 16th minute when Bertha Omita found the back of the net.

Their lead lasted only five minutes as Rebecca Okwaro levelled matters for Police after receiving a ball from Emily Moranga to score her 13th goal of the season.

Police are still first with 33 points, two more than Kibera Soccer Women who have played a match less while Zetech have also maintained their seventh position but tied on 21 points with Trinity Starlets.

Vihiga Queens 2-0 Trinity Starlets

Kenyan giants Vihiga Queens got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Naivasha-based Trinity Starlets in a match that was played at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu from 1300 hrs.

After a goalless first half, Vihiga took the lead halfway through the second half through Diana Cherono Sigei who slotted home from a Noel Amutata assist in the 68th minute.

The two combined once again in the 81st minute to ensure a brace for Sigei and a double assist for Amutata.

Vihiga have reached the 30 point mark and are just three points shy of league leaders Police while Trinity remain at sixth.

Mombasa Olympic 0-1 Ulinzi Starlets

After drawing their last two matches, Ulinzi Starlets were able to snatch a 1-0 Victory from Mombasa Olympic in a match played at Makande Primary School from 1500 hrs.

Joy Kinglady’s 52nd minute strike from a Sheryl Andiba assist was all that the military women needed to emerge victorious.

Ulinzi are fourth with 27 points and continue to pile pressure on the front three as Olympic remain in the relegation zone at 11th.

Bungoma Queens 0-0 KISPED

Bungoma Queens failed to build on their previous victory over Vihiga Queens as they were held to a barren draw by KISPED Queens in a match held at the Bungoma National Polytechnic from 1500 hrs.

KISPED run without victory continues as they sit ninth on the league table as Bungoma maintains their fifth position.

Kisumu All Starlets 3-1 Bunyore Starlets

Lakeside club Kisumu All Starlets managed to get back to winning ways after over five matches with a 3-1 home victory over neighbors Bunyore Starlets in a match played at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu from 1515 hrs.

Starlets found the back of the net through Madrine Kinila, Daisy Cherop and Faith Atieno, while Bunyore scored their consolation through Faith Marende.

All Starlets are still eighth in the league table with 19 points, two shy of Zetech and Trinity at 21, while Bunyore’s dalliance with the relegation zone at 10th continues.

Wadadia vs Kibera Soccer Women (walkover)

Wadadia issued their third walkover against Kibera Soccer Women and will now be relegated from the WPL.

For Kibera Soccer Women, the three points moved them to 31 points and just two shy of Police, who dropped points against Zetech.

Kibera have a game in hand and in pole position to topple Police from the summit.
