Victor Osimhen's club are about to acquire Torino's defender Alessandro Buongiorno
You've probably heard it a few times when Italians say hello to each other. Buongiorno! It means 'good morning' or even 'good afternoon', and no one charges for that.
However, Napoli are about to pay at least €40m for Buongiorno - only in their case, it's not a salute, but a player.
Alessandro Buongiorno is a Torino defender who was part of Italy's 26-man EURO 2024 squad but didn't play a single minute in the tournament.

Napoli and Torino are on the verge of reaching final agreement on fee, it’s imminent.

However, it didn't affect the interest in Buongiorno from various clubs, such as Juventus, Inter, Tottenham, and, finally, Napoli.
Tuttosport suggests that Juventus had actually offered more than Napoli, but Juventus are their city rival, and selling him to the Bianconeri would've been a hard pill to swallow.
According to multiple sources, the Neapolitans have agreed to a €35m plus €5m in add-ons deal with Torino, and now they must work out personal terms with the player.
The opening offer of €35m, including bonuses, was rejected, but Sportitalia, Sky Sport Italia and more are all confident a deal has now been done for €35m plus another €5m in performance-related add-ons.
