The varsity side headed into the match sitting seventh on the league table with 15 points, one shy of their opponents, Kayole Starlets, who were fifth on the log.
Kayole had endured a rough patch in December, winning one and losing back-to-back games, including a 2-1 loss to Madira Soccer Women in their last match and were keen to return to winning ways in the match.
The visitors began the match as the better side, dominating possession and looking dangerous in attack through Ashley Shilwatso, Magneta Ocharo and Linda Kihara, but could only create half-chances that were squandered in the opening 10 minutes.
Kayole were meant to pay for the missed chance three minutes later, when, against the run of play, Zetech took the lead through Faith Muli.
The goal allowed Zetech to settle into the match and seemed to have temporarily doused the spirits of Kayole, who began to cede possession cheaply.
The league newbies regained momentum towards the half-hour mark and almost drew level in the 37th minute when Shilwatso attempted a long-range strike that was heading goalwards, but Melvin Guya in the Zetech post was there to make a save.
Kayole intensified their chase for an equaliser, but the varsity side stood tall to maintain their lead at halftime.
The visitors came back a more rejuvenated side in the second half and thought they had scored in the 51st minute, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
Zetech then doubled their lead through the red-hot Muli, who secured her brace and dampened the shred of hope remaining for Kayole as the match went on to end 2-0.
With the win, Zetech leapfrogged Kayole to fifth place with 18 points as the visitors dropped to sixth with 16 points to their name.
Kibera Soccer Women - Kisped Queens (Walkover)
In the other match of the day, Kibera Soccer Women were handed a walkover after Kisped Queens failed to show up for their match that was to take place at the Marist International University.
This is the third time the Kisumu-based side have issued a walkover and are expected to be relegated to the FKF Women's National Super League (WNSL).
Kisped failed to show up for their match against Ulinzi Starlets on 20 December 2025, before forfeiting their match against Kenya Police Bullets on Wednesday, 7 January.
