Kenya boxing team’s quest for valuable Paris 2024 Olympic slots will enter day three on Monday at the 2nd World Olympic Qualification Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand.
Flying the nation’s flag high will be team captain Elizabeth Andiego, who will hope to earn back-to-back tickets to the Summer Games when she turns out for a women’s last 16 middleweight bout against German international Irina Nicole Schoenberger.
The 37-year-old will feature in the evening session on bout number 203, but she will not be the only Kenyan on the ring.
African Games champion Edwin Okong'o, after his momentous win on Saturday, will in the afternoon (Bout 178) take on Mongolian Dalai Ganzorig in the light heavyweight Round of 32.
The session will start at 1300 EAT.

Okong’o, two days earlier, became the first Kenyan to get a victory in the qualifiers after knocking out Malian opponent Mahamadou Gory in the first round.
On the negative side however, men’s team captain Boniface Mugunde was the first Kenyan to exit the competition after losing on points to 2018 Commonwealth Games silver medalist Aidan Walsh on Sunday.
The light-middleweight, who was also on the traveling squad to the first Olympic Qualifiers in Busto Arsizio, Italy, has now seen his hopes for a debut Summer Games appearance has gone up in smoke.
Three other Kenyan Boxers - Amina Martha, Friza Anyango and Peter Abuti - are yet to feature, but will open their events starting Tuesday.
