Former Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's league Most Valuable Player (MVP) Eugene Adera has ditched Equity Dumas for BAL-bound Nairobi City Thunder.
This is the Brad Ibs-led side's second key signing of the season for the league champions who are assembling an arsenal for their Basketball Africa League (BAL) debut.
Thunder won their maiden title unbeaten and on top of defending the league they are looking to become the first Kenyan side to go beyond the Road to BAL after previous representatives Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) and Ulinzi Warriors faltered.
"I am very excited to have Eugene this season. He is a dynamic player who fiercely attacks the basket. Last season I noticed that he is also a very talented passer, something that I think can help to unlock more offense for some of our shooters," said coach Ibs.
Adera's journey in basketball can be traced back to Nakuru Club where he honed his skills in 2017 and 2018 before joining the now-defunct Embakasi Youth Basketball Association (EMYBA) in 2019 and 2020.
He joined former champions KPA in 2021, guiding them to the title as he was named MVP before moving on to Dumas.

The guard made his national team debut last year as Kenya Morans finished sixth in the AfroCan tournament in Angola.
"I am glad to be part of the Nairobi City Thunder family. I am looking forward to this new season and getting more wins," said Adera.
