Speaking to Mozzart Sport after the win, Coach Simon Odhiambo who coaches UoN ladies and men was impressed by his charges’ performance.
“It is a good feeling. The game is getting better and all teams are showing improvement and making it to this level is a sign that the work we are doing is really inspiring,” Odhiambo said.
Despite that, the tactician is convinced that some areas need to be worked on before their next match.
“One of the areas we need to work on is short corners, short corner defending, and concentration of players. I feel like we had lapses in our defence that led to one of the goals we conceded against KCA,” he disclosed.
Strathmore hockey teams play in the Kenya Hockey Premier League sides and has been contributing players to the national team. For instance, during the recently concluded Africa Junior Hockey Championships held in Ismailia, Egypt the side produced players like Noel Cheboi who contributed to the Kenyans making it to the finals.
