The quartet of outstanding juniors who have demonstrated exceptional performance, dedication, and passion for the game earned their places on the team through performances in the 2024/2025 National Junior Provisional Squad, demonstrating both merit and unwavering commitment.

Their participation underscores Kenya’s position as a leading force in junior golf development in East and Central Africa.

The championship marks a historic milestone for junior golf on the continent, bringing together top young golfers from Region IV countries under the Africa Golf Confederation umbrella.

For the first time, Africa’s rising stars will compete in a dedicated regional platform designed to nurture talent, foster friendships, and prepare juniors for future international competitions.

The Region IV Championship is inspired by the growing success of continental competitions such as the All-Africa Junior Team Championships, which has over the years provided Junior African golfers with opportunities to showcase their talent on the global stage.

However, the Region IV event stands out as a dedicated junior-focused tournament aimed at broadening the pipeline of young golfers while creating equal opportunities across participating countries.

The championship will feature participation from Mauritius, Madagascar, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Réunion, all bringing their best juniors to compete in the three-day event.

Speaking after the squad announcement, JGF president Vincent Mukiri emphasised the importance of the championship, noting that it not only provides a competitive stage for young golfers but also aligns with the Foundation’s mission of growing the sport from the grassroots.

“This championship is historic because it provides our juniors with a rare chance to compete against their peers on an international stage while building camaraderie and representing the country with pride.

We believe this platform will inspire them to reach even greater heights and prepare them for future professional careers in golf,” he offered.

The Tamarina Golf Club in Mauritius, renowned for its challenging layout and breathtaking coastal views, offers the perfect venue for this inaugural event.

It will test not only the players’ technical abilities but also their mental resilience, giving them exposure to the kind of conditions seen in top-level global competitions.

The JGF expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, parents, and sponsors who continue to invest in the growth of junior golf in Kenya, noting that such support is critical to producing the next generation of champions.

"As Kenya’s junior golfers prepare to fly the flag high in Mauritius, the country rallies behind them with great optimism. Their journey reflects Kenya’s continued commitment to nurturing golf talent and showcasing African excellence on the global stage," Mukiri concluded.
