Drivers tackle Soysambu, Elementaita and Sleep Warriors twice for SS8 to SS13.
Gus Greensmith and Jonas Andersson's Safari Rally took another downward turn when the pair rolled their M-Sport Ford Puma car on SS8 in Soysambu.
We tried our best but unfortunately we have had to retire for the day https://t.co/RQCZQbqOGi

Despite a broken windscreen, the crew elected to continue with the Elementaita stage finishing the stage but retired with cooling management issues soon after.
His Puma colleague, Adrien Fourmaux, is also out for the day with rear suspension damage.

Greensmith's roll saw him lose a precious 23 minutes on the opening test of Saturday morning. He made it to the start of Elmenteita but he and co-driver Andersson were donning a pair of goggles as their M-Sport Ford had no windshield.
It cost them another minute on SS9, in Elementaita, as their pace naturally reduced. At the end of the SS9, Greensmith, who said he did not want to talk about the experience had one word for it “horrible”.
💥 Broken suspension

Saturday morning on #WRC Safari Rally is proving to be a tough one for @AdrienFourmaux pic.twitter.com/Nn73N0w8kz
Fourmaux could start in Elementaita. He dropped five minutes in Soysambu, first with a puncture and then with broken rear-left suspension which he unsuccessfully tried to fix.
The drivers have had a rough safari as their Friday was not any better. Sébastien Loeb’s was the first Puma to retire on the second day but both Fourmaux and Craig Breen also exited the contest during the day, meaning none of the manufacturer-registered M-Sport cars made it to the end of the leg.
Greensmith’s was the only works car to complete all of Friday’s mileage, but not without his own dramas as he lost three minutes changing a puncture on the first pass of Kedong.
