Alvin ‘Buffa’ Otieno! We celebrate you

Alvine ‘Buffa’ Otieno’s name is now synonymous with excellence in rugby. Buffa achieved a milestone after scoring his 50th try for Kenya 7s in the ninth-place playoff match where Kenya lost to Spain on Sunday.

Shujaa garnered seven points from the match and 10 points from the Singapore 7s tournament. They are still unmoved at position 13.

Buffa, who was part of the 2016 Kenya 7s team that won the Singapore 7s, was also ranked among the Singapore 7s impact players of the tournament.

The forward put in a great effort, racking up 56 points on the strength of 29 carries, 12 tackles, five clean breaks, and one offload.

Along with George Ooro, he led the squad in scoring with four tries over the course of the weekend. It was Buffa's 129th match for Kenya.

Toseva Talacolo of Fiji earned 72 points and was named the tournament's Impact Player. Talacolo's performance was equally outstanding with 15 tackles, 21 carries, four clean breaks, and 12 offloads.

Luciano Gonzalez of Argentina took second place with 67 points while Darby Lancaster of the USA came in third with 58 points.
