Kenyan referee to officiate in upcoming 2023 Rugby World Cup qualifiers

Apart from the Kenya Simbas flying the country’s flag high in France, Kenyan referee Victor Oduor Ojuku will also be at it as he has been included in the list of match officials who will oversee the 2023 Rugby World Cup qualifiers.
Ojuku was named as part of the referees who will officiate in the Rugby World Cup qualifiers that is salted for Marseille, and Aix-en-Provence in France as from Friday 1 July.
The experienced whistle blower will be an assistant referee in five qualifier matches as he will kickstart his duties with the clash pitting Zimbabwe and Ivory Coast on Friday 1 July at the Stade Pierre-Delort, Marseille, France.
He will be in action the following day when Senegal who staged a massive upset by edging Kenya on home soil take on Algeria who will aim to book a slot in the semi finals of the competition.

The East African Derby between Kenya and Uganda will be overseen by English referee Anthony Woodthrope with Sylvain Mane from Senegal and Tunisian Aymen Jriji being the assistant referee.
Ojuku will then be the assistant referee in the loser between Namibia and Burkina Faso and Zimbabwe vs Ivory Coast and will also officiate in the winner of the two matches.
The winner of the Africa Cup tournament which doubles up as the 2023 Rugby World Cup qualifiers will earn a direct ticket to the intercontinental tourney.
The runner up could still earn a place in the World Cup as they will drop to the Final Qualification Tournament as Africa 2.
