In a significant development in the men’s 800m, Emmanuel Wanyonyi is no longer holding the world lead after Algeria's Sedjati clocked a winning time of 1:43.23
Former World U18 Championships bronze medalist Edinah Jebitok on Sunday evening clocked her personal best time in the 1500m after timing 3:58.88 in Stockholm - the seventh Diamond League stop this season.
The 22-year-old, who was taking part in her second Diamond League race in three days, shifted her strategy in Sweden, initially falling behind the leading pack before mounting a strong finish in the last 400m to come second.
Laura Muir 🇬🇧 burst out of the top bend in the closing stages of the women's 1500m, streaking to a clear win in 3:57.99 at the Stockholm Diamond League!

Great Britain’s Laura Muir was first, timing 3:57.99, while Australia’s Griffith Georgia came home third in 3:59.17.
Sunday’s race for Jebitok came days after she had finished 11th at the Oslo Diamond League in the 3000m flat, and only her second in the 1500m distance.
Her only other 1500m race was at the Kip Keino Classic in April, where she finished second clocking 4:07.22.
In another race featuring Kenyan representation Sunday, Vivian Chebet Kiprotich finished second in the women’s 800m event timing 1:58.64.
Great Britain’s Jemma Reekie was first clocking 1:57.79, with Finland’s Eveliina Maattanen finishing third in a personal best time of 1:59.59.
Chebet, the African Games bronze medalist, set her season best over the distance at the Kip Keino Classic, where she clocked 1:58.26 before embarking on a European trip in May that has seen her compete in France, Poland and Italy.
In significant news in the men’s 800m however, Algeria’s Djamel Sedjati now holds the distance’s world lead after winning in a time of 1:43.23.
That means that Emmanuel Wanyonyi’s impressive time of 1:43.57 he attained at this year’s Kip Keino Classic has been eclipsed.
No one was able to stop Djamel Sedjati's kick!
