AFCON U20: Neighbours Uganda land favouable draw

Reigning champions Ghana failed to qualify for the tournament.
Last edition runners-up, Uganda have been handed a kind draw in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after avoiding a number of the big guns in the tournament.
A total of twelve teams qualified to play in the final tournament, including Egypt who qualified automatically as hosts, and South Sudan who are making their debut in the tournament.
The bi-annual tournament is slated for Saturday 18 February to Sunday 12 March 2023 where the top four teams will qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup held in Indonesia in 2023.
Uganda were paired against fellow CECAFA side South Sudan in what will be a repeat of the region’s Under 20 tournament, 2007 champions Congo and Central African Republic.
Four-time champions Egypt and hosts Egypt will face three-time runners-up Senegal, Mozambique, and record tournament champions Nigeria.
2021 second runners-up Gambia will face 1985 runners-up Tunisia, Benin and 2017 champions Zambia.
2023 Africa Cup of Nations draw:
Group A: Egypt, Mozambique, Senegal, Nigeria
Group B: Uganda, Central African Republic, South Sudan, Congo.
Group C: Gambia, Tunisia, Benin, Zambia.
