Shabana are still targeting a strong finish inside the top five, while Ulinzi Stars are fighting to move further away from the relegation battle.

Recent form from both clubs suggests another tense and closely contested afternoon in Kisii.

Shabana enter the contest sitting sixth on the table with 47 points from 29 matches.

They have scored 32 league goals and conceded 30 overall.

Across their last five games in all competitions they recorded two wins one draw and two defeats scoring three goals and conceding four while keeping three clean sheets.

Their home form remains encouraging after victories against Kakamega Homeboyz and Muranga plus a draw against Police FC.

Brian Michira is out after suffering a tibialis posterior contusion grade one injury although Shabana hope he regains fitness before the season ends.

James Mazembe could return after recovering from a hand injury. Bathsi Assis will again lead the attack alongside Danson Kiprono and Bronson Nsubuga while Byron Otieno and Kevin Omundi should control midfield areas.

Ulinzi Stars travel to Kisii sitting fifteenth with 31 points from 29 matches only one point above the relegation places.

Their overall record of 29 goals scored and 34 conceded highlights some defensive vulnerability yet recent momentum has been impressive.

They have won four of their last five matches in all competitions scoring nine goals and conceding six.

Consecutive league victories against Bandari and KCB significantly improved confidence although their recent cup defeat against Tusker showed they can still be exposed defensively under pressure.

With elimination from the Mozzart Bet Cup already confirmed Ulinzi Stars can now focus entirely on league survival.

Paul Okoth currently the league’s second highest scorer remains their biggest attacking threat. Support will come from Staphod Odhiambo,Boniface Muchiri and either Kevin Musambai or Peter Mwasi as the visitors attempt to continue their improved run.

Recent meetings between the sides have usually been tight and low scoring. Shabana won the reverse fixture 1-0 away from home earlier this season while two of the last five meetings ended in draws.

Key Pointers;

  • Shabana are unbeaten across their last three league matches at home
  • Ulinzi Stars head into this clash after winning each of their previous four away fixtures
  • The last three meetings between the two sides have seen Shabana claim one victory while the other two encounters ended level

Prediction; Draw or Shabana Narrow Win.
