FKFPL Week 12: Unstoppable Posta matches on as Gor Mahia bounces back

Police FC were ruthless against Nzoia Sugar FC, hammering the Millers 3-1

Posta Rangers have only lost a game this season and since week two have enjoyed fresh air at the top of the pile with little resistance.

Their good show continued with an emphatic 3-1 thumping of strugglers and newbies Shabana FC for their seventh win at Machakos Stadium on Saturday.

Although coach John Kamau has refused to be dragged into title talks, pundits agree that the Mailmen are solid and all round and are certainly one of the teams to watch this campaign.

AFC Leopards failed to win their fourth straight match - letting go a 1-0 lead to settle for a 1-1 draw also in Machakos.

Prodigy Brian Yakhama put Leopards ahead in the 67th minute, but vintage Humphrey Mieno cancelled things out at the 90th minute mark.

Under coach Tomas Trucha, Ingwe has only managed a single win - a 1-0 victory against Nzoia Sugar in October.

The 12-time Kenyan champions who have picked a single win in 12 games are sitting in the 14th position with ten points.

Meanwhile, after two frustrating barren draws in their previous games, defending champions and Leopards arch rivals Gor Mahia bounced back in a big way - beating Muhoroni Youth 2-0 at Raila Odinga Homabay County Stadium.

The leading FKF Premier League top scorer Benson Omala also ended his goal drought to score his eighth of the season.

After much social media banter, Murang'a Seal could not put their mouth where their money is as they went down 2-1 to KCB FC.

The loss saw them drop from fifth to third on the log, a testament of how crowded and competitive the top five positions is becoming.

Police FC were ruthless against Nzoia Sugar FC, hammering the Millers 3-1, while Nairobi City Stars inflicted more pain on Kariobangi Sharks Sharks, beating them 3-1.

Give FKFPL its flowers

Amidst the talk of poor quality, the Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat still relied on players from the FKF Premier League for the World Cup assignments against Gabon and Seychelles respectively, and they gave a good account of themselves.

Gor Mahia defender, turned winger Rooney Onyango and his teammate Omala were on the score board against Seychelles, while Police FC full back Abud Omar equally tasted action.

Whatever the league's shortcomings, with positive criticism, can be fixed. Dismissing or looking down upon it, only to seek solutions from it at the hour of need only reeks of insincerity.
