The former Mathare United playmaker began his overseas career with Sweden’s Vasalunds IF in 2017, where he netted five goals in 22 appearances.
A season later, he joined IF Brommapojkarna, also in Sweden, scoring six times in 43 matches between 2018 and 2019.
His most prolific European spell came at Jönköpings Södra IF, where between 2020 and 2021 he struck 14 goals in 51 games.
In 2022, Omondi made the leap to Belgium with Waasland-Beveren before heading to Asia to sign for Thailand’s Muangthong United, where he registered nine goals in 23 outings.
His next stop was Romania, where he spent two seasons from 2023 to 2025, adding seven goals in 61 matches to his career tally.
The 2015 Kenyan Premier League Midfielder of the Year now turns his attention to Al-Zulfi FC’s charge for promotion to the Saudi Pro League, the country’s top tier.
The Al-Zulfi-based side will be banking on Omondi’s creativity and experience to improve on last season’s ninth-place finish in the 18-team division, where they collected 44 points, trailing champions Neom by 35.
Al-Zulfi FC was founded in 1969 as Markh Club before adopting its current name in 2006.
The club spent three consecutive seasons (2021–2024) in the Saudi Second Division League, earning promotion to the Saudi First Division League in 2024.
In their maiden campaign in the second tier in the 2024/25 season, Al-Zulfi impressed by securing a ninth-place finish, marking a solid debut at that level.
