Having had the experience of both leagues and countries, the former Melbourne Victory man shared the unique features of the two leagues.

“The biggest difference is that Finland is very physical. There is a lot of fire. Every game is a 50-50 no matter what. So you have to work hard, train hard.

Australia is also a fantastic league and has a bit more tactical aspect of the game, and so both are respectable leagues and I love playing in both,” said Lenkupae during the Kenya vs Seychelles pre-match interview.

Apart from football, Lenkupae who received his first call up and cap in March, also revealed the social adjustments he had to make after the transfer.

“It is my first time playing abroad - outside Australia, so generally it is a new culture, people speak different languages, and football, in my assessment, is slightly different and you have to adapt and I feel like I have done that so well so far and it will get better,” he stated.

With Kenya set to compete in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Lenkupae, who traces his roots to Samburu county, disclosed what he is doing to ensure he becomes a regular in the national team.

“Every session I try to train the best I can to prove myself and to get as many minutes. I Perform the best I can, prepare myself in the best way I can and work hard,” he added.

Since his move to the Veikkausliiga, Lenkupae has made six appearances for his club, where he has largely been deployed as an attacking midfielder.
