Barcelona's match-winner against Atletico Madrid once again highlighted the difficult time he had during the past transfer window

Destiny is capricious, and last night, the player who secured the victory for Barca against Atletico de Madrid was none other than Joao Felix, the kid who was supposed to become Atleti's best-ever player. Despite all the chances for the Blaugrana side, the stunning goal from Menino secured the crucial victory for Xavi Hernandez's team.

The player loaned from Atletico was the man of the match. And although he's legally still bound to the club from the capital, the way he speaks indicates his heart now fully belongs to Barcelona. The Portuguese confessed that his goal in the 28th minute was a relief for him and his family.

"It was a spontaneous celebration. In the end, in the heat of the match, it was a relief, mainly because of what I experienced during the last transfer window and everything I went through. Only the people close to me know what I've been through. It was also a relief for them."

The 24-year-old former Chelsea loanee also addressed the media buzz surrounding him in the past week, stating that he pays no attention to what's said about him.

"For me, it's been just another week. Every week, there's talk about me, whether good or bad. I'm always a subject. I don't pay attention to what they say; I just do my job. I'm here working every day to be a better player. I'm grateful to my teammates and the club, which welcomed me."

Despite the unpleasant transfer saga and the falling out with Atletico coach Diego Simeone, Menino says he still has affection for his former teammates at Atletico.

"Of course, I get along well with all of them. They know I have nothing against them. I have a good relationship with almost all of them. I care about them a lot and wish them the best. Ultimately, they've been my teammates with whom I've spent more time than with my family, and I wish them the best, except when they play against us."

He was much briefer when asked if he had crossed paths with Simeone.

"No."

Joao Felix concluded by confessing that he felt very proud when he heard Barcelona fans chanting his name.

"When I heard it, I couldn't believe it. I know the greatness of this club, and having the fans chanting your name makes me very happy. Now, I'll keep working so they keep singing."
