At the Hope Centre in Kawangware, debutants Equity FC pulled off a shock 1–0 win over Kibera Black Stars

Migori Youth reclaimed top spot in the National Super League standings after edging debutants Gucha Stars 1–0 at the Green Stadium, Awendo on Sunday.

Having suffered a 3–2 defeat to newcomers Equity FC last weekend, the Migori-based outfit were eager to bounce back, and they did so in style.

Syphas Otieno struck the decisive goal in the 44th minute to hand his side all three points.

Victory saw Migori take their tally to 16 points, reclaiming the summit just a week after surrendering it.

For Gucha Stars, it was another frustrating outing, their second successive defeat after last week’s 3-2 loss to Fortune Sacco, a result that left them languishing in 18th place on the table.

At the Embu Stadium, 3K FC also returned to winning form, cruising to a 2–0 victory over visiting Kisumu All Stars.

The hosts made their intentions clear early on, with Alex Kazungu and Oscar Juma both finding the back of the net in the first half to secure a comfortable win in what was dubbed the Mozzart Bet Derby.

Last week, they had been held to a dramatic 2–2 draw by Mwatate United, ending an impressive home run that had included victories over Mombasa United and Darajani Gogo.

The result marked 3K’s third win of the campaign and saw them leapfrog into fifth place on 12 points, just four shy of league leaders Migori Youth, while it extended All Stars winless run into the campaign to five matches leaving them perched bottom on table standings.

At the Kirinyaga Stadium, hosts Fortune Sacco were left ruing missed chances after conceding a stoppage-time equaliser in a 1–1 draw against former FKF Premier League side Nairobi City Stars.

Elvis Barasa gave Fortune the lead in the 34th minute, but the microfinance-backed side allowed a late equaliser deep into injury time, a lapse that denied them what would have been their third win of the season.

The result left microfinanced backed side on nine points, while it halted City Stars’ three-match losing streak.

Salim Babu’s charges, on the other hand, extended their winless run to four matches, slipping further down to 13th place with seven points.

At the Wundanyi Stadium in Taita Taveta County, Mwatate United finally registered their first win of the season, beating Kabati Youth 1-0 to end a frustrating six-match winless run.

Under the guidance of returning head coach Evans Mafuta, the home side, who had drawn against both 3K and Equity FC in recent weeks, showed renewed energy and discipline to secure the much-needed victory.

The result lifted Mwatate out of the relegation zone and into 16th place on six points, marking a significant turnaround in their campaign.

At the Hope Centre in Kawangware, debutants Equity FC pulled off a shock 1–0 win over Kibera Black Stars.

The Bankers, under coach JohnKamaraMbezwa, struck just before half-time to claim back-to-back victories for the first time this season

The win , their third of the campaign, moved them up to sixth place on ten points, six behind leaders Migori Youth.

The defeat was a bitter blow for Kibera Black Stars, who had topped the standings heading into the weekend and were seeking a second straight win.

Meanwhile, at Sudi Stadium, former top-flight side Nzoia Sugar continued their search for a second win of the season after being held to a goalless draw by Vihiga United.

The result extended Nzoia’s unbeaten run but also their unwanted streak of six consecutive draws, leaving them seventh on nine points.

For Milton Kidiga’s Vihiga United, the draw meant a third straight game without defeat, following last weekend’s 1–0 win over Luanda Villa and a goalless draw against Kisumu All Stars the previous week.
