With pressure to maintain their place at the top, Homeboyz began on the front foot, dictating play, pushing Seal deep into their half.
The hosts carved out their first clear chance just five minutes in, when Hillary Juma’s well-struck volley from a corner forced Michael Owen to clear off the line.
From the ensuing set piece, Eston Omengo delivered another teasing ball into the danger zone, but Victor Haki reacted swiftly to block.
Derrick Otanga, leading the Homeboyz attack, twice came close to breaking the deadlock in the 10th minute.
His initial low strike from Omengo’s lay-off was parried by goalkeeper Erick Ongiri, and his follow-up effort was again stopped by the alert shot-stopper.
Their persistence paid off moments later when Henry Omollo was brought down inside the box after a clever run, prompting the referee to point to the spot.
Odhiambo stepped up and calmly slotted home, giving Homeboyz a deserved early lead.
Otanga thought he had doubled the advantage in the 19th minute only for his effort to be ruled out for offside.
Moments later, the former FKF-PL 'Golden Boot' winner was denied by the post after unleashing a fierce low drive from Rodgers Ouma’s pass.
Homeboyz continued to dominate and nearly extended their lead on the half-hour mark when Odhiambo’s header from Juma’s delivery forced Ongiri into a superb reflex save.
Murang’a Seal, however, grew into the game, with Lucas Maina twice threatening before the interval, first having his attempt blocked by Eugene Ochieng, then forcing goalkeeper Edwin Mukolwe into a fingertip save just before halftime.
The second half resumed with the visitors on the ascendancy.
John Kiplangat’s early effort tested Mukolwe, while substitute Joseph Waithera narrowly missed the target after a promising combination play.
Their pressure eventually bore fruit in the 72nd minute when Ngugi pounced on a poorly cleared ball inside the box to level the score.
Homeboyz responded with urgency, pushing bodies forward in search of a winner.
Eugene Ochieng came close when he rose highest to meet Boniface Onyango’s cross, but failed to direct his header on target.
At the other end, Kiplangat nearly completed Seal’s comeback with a low shot that drifted inches wide.
Despite late pressure from the hosts, Murang’a Seal held firm, showcasing admirable defensive discipline to secure a vital point on the road.
The result leaves Homeboyz still atop the table but with their lead under threat, while Murang’a Seal continue their steady rise in form with yet another hard-fought result against top opposition.
