APS Bomet head coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo has highlighted midfield frailty as a key area that requires urgent reinforcement following his side’s dramatic 2-1 defeat to AFC Leopards over the weekend.
The former Posta Rangers tactician, appearing on the sidelines for only the second time since taking charge of the Bomet-based side, singled out his midfield as a unit lacking depth and resilience, an issue that ultimately contributed to his team’s late collapse.

Pamzo’s concerns followed his team’s rollercoaster encounter against the joint league leaders on Saturday, 17 January, at Nyayo National Stadium.
The league debutants were poised for another famous upset after their stunning 4-1 victory over Gor Mahia in November 2025.
Phillip Wasai had given Bomet a crucial lead six minutes from time, seemingly putting them on course for a sensational win.
However, Leopards displayed their championship pedigree, hitting back with an equaliser from Christopher Koloti.
The young attacker latched onto a perfectly timed pass from Victor Omune before delicately chipping past the onrushing Bob Cedric to level the score.
In the dying moments of added time, Bebeto Ronald capitalized on a poorly cleared ball from the Bomet defense to slot home the winner, snatching victory for Ingwe.
Speaking after the match, the one-time FKF-PL title-winning coach with Tusker FC in 2011 admitted that the lack of options in midfield forced his hand and left his players fatigued in the closing stages.
"I am happy with my players; they gave their all until added time. But if I had depth in the midfield, things could have been different. I had no options to rotate my players, unlike our opponents," stated the seasoned coach.
He added, "With more depth, I could have brought in fresh defensive players to manage the game and possibly secure a point. Our deficiency, especially in midfield, is evident, and we must reinforce by bringing experienced players on board."
The defeat left APS Bomet entrenched in a relegation battle, sitting 16th with 14 points, just one above bottom-placed Kariobangi Sharks.
The former Harambee Stars defender will now look to the midseason transfer window to bolster his squad, particularly in the midfield, as the team seeks stability and a solid charge to retain their FKF Premier League status in their maiden top-flight campaign.
