Carlo Ancelotti is aware of the flaws of his current squad and is eager to bring Aymeric Laporte to Santiago Bernabeu

Real Madrid's back line has serious issues, and the bench is just not good enough to provide Carlo Ancelotti with the necessary depth. The solution is clear - he needs an experienced centre-back.

Carletto talked with the club's board and asked for a defender, and he got a nod. According to AS newspaper, Los Blancos' main target in the upcoming January Transfer Window will be Aymeric Laporte.

However, it won't be easy for the Royals to get him out of Saudi Arabia in the middle of the season.

The Spanish international doesn't enjoy his life in the desert that much, and as recently as a few months ago, he mentioned the possibility of returning to Europe.

Athletic Bilbao were interested, but nothing happened in the end. He's still at Al-Nassr, and he's one of the key members of the squad. Therefore, the question remains whether the Arab club will even be willing to negotiate, considering that Laporte's contract is valid until 2026.

It is rumoured that Real Madrid will have to pay around 25,000,000 euros for his 'freedom'.
