
Chandaria, Ndei Steal show at NCBA golf series Sigona leg

In the ladies’ Gross category, Jane Njau finished runner-up with 91 gross, narrowly behind Ndei in a tight contest.
Akshay Chandaria and Rachel Ndei were the standout performers at the ninth leg of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series held over the weekend at Sigona Golf Club, where more than 260 golfers competed in one of the season’s most competitive qualifiers.

Playing off handicap one, Chandaria delivered a composed round of 76 gross to win the overall gross men's title, edging a strong field of low-handicap challengers.
His consistent performance secured him qualification for the season-ending Grand Finale at Karen Country Club later this year.
In the ladies’ category, Rachel Ndei returned 90 gross to claim the Overall Gross Lady Winner title, holding off strong competition to also book her place at the Grand Finale.
Adam Tayebjee finished as men’s runner-up with 77 gross, while M.N. Njoroge also carded 77 gross to place third on countback.
In the ladies’ Gross category, Jane Njau finished runner-up with 91 gross, narrowly behind Ndei in a tight contest.
In the handicap divisions, G.S. Phull won Division Two Men with 39 points, while Vivian Kosgei took Division Two Ladies with 32 points. Joy Bhatt topped Division Three with 37 points.
In the junior category, Hetansh Shah impressed with a round of 80 gross to emerge as the winner, underlining the strong youth presence in this year’s NCBA Golf Series.
Speaking during the prize-giving ceremony, NCBA ABC Place Branch Manager Rose Mburu reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to developing golf in Kenya.
“We are delighted to witness another successful and highly competitive leg of the NCBA Golf Series here at Sigona Golf Club. The quality of play today reflects the continued growth of golf in Kenya.
Through this series, our goal remains to create inclusive platforms that bring together golfers, strengthen club communities, and support the development of talent across the country,” she said.
