AFC Leopards collected slightly over Ksh 1 million despite suffering a humbling 3-0 defeat to Kenya Police FC in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League clash on Saturday, 18 April staged at Nyayo National Stadium.

In a statement shared on the club’s official Facebook page, Leopards confirmed that a total of 3,421 tickets were sold for the encounter.

Matchday ticket prices had been set at Ksh 500 for VIP and Ksh 300 for the regular seats.

The club generated approximately Ksh 1,026,300 in gate collections.

However, the latest figures show a noticeable drop in turnout and revenue compared to the club's previous home fixture against Kariobangi Sharks, where the club realized Ksh 1,254,900 from 4,183 tickets, marking a decline of Ksh 228,600.

While the club found some positives off the pitch, the situation on it painted a starkly different picture.

Leopards were outclassed by a clinical Police side, who put the game beyond reach within the first half.

Yves Koutiama opened the scoring just three minutes into the contest, setting the tone for a dominant display.

Former Tusker FC forward Erick Zakayo doubled the advantage shortly after, before Charles Ouma added a third to seal an emphatic victory with a commanding first-half performance.

The defeat dealt a significant blow to Ingwe’s title ambitions.

Dropped points saw them lose ground in the race for the summit, allowing rivals Gor Mahia to maintain their edge at the top of the standings.

Following Gor Mahia’s goalless draw against Bandari FC on Sunday, Fred Ambani’s charges now trail K’Ogalo by three points.

The gap, though narrow, presents a growing challenge in their pursuit of ending a 28-year league title drought.

With Mashemeji Derby coming up over the weekend, in what could potentially prove title decider, Ingwe now face mounting pressure to respond swiftly.
